Projector Help

Which projector is right for my event?

There are always different variables for each location and event that can help determine which projector will be most effective for your program.  The three most common factors you’ll want to consider when choosing a projector are:

  • Room conditions

  • Group size and screen size

  • Technical specs for your presentation

Room Conditions

The amount of ambient room light that can’t be controlled such as sunlight or overhead lighting.  If you need to overcome these conditions, then you’ll want a brighter projector to maximize your image while dealing with the room conditions.

Group and Screen Size

These two factors go hand in hand.  The larger the group, the larger the screen you’ll want to convey your message effectively.  Room Conditions also play a role here, in that ceiling heights and chandelier placement in your space may limit the type or style of screen that can be used.
When choosing larger screens, you’ll conversely want a brighter projector.  Not to get too technical, but the larger the surface you try to project onto requires a brighter and brighter projector to get the same results you’d expect on a smaller screen.  A 2200 Lumen projector will look much less bright on a 10.5x14 screen than it would on much smaller 6x8 surface for instance.  There is no hard and fast rule here, but as a factor in choosing your projector, the screen size will play a big role as to what would look acceptable for your event.

Technical Specs

Your program can also affect which type of projector you may require.  All of our projectors can handle a wide array of resolutions from your laptop or video source material.  However, some projectors have different “native” resolutions than others, just like your laptops.  So if you prefer to project in the same resolution that you created your program, let us know what resolution you’d like to project at and we can accommodate the request.
